Keith and Tamara

Hello,                                       

We are Keith and Tamara and we would like to share some information with you about our family life.  First, let us start by saying that we truly appreciate the wonderful gift you are considering giving to a set of parents, whether that is us, or someone else.  We know that you have a very difficult decision ahead of you and we hope that letters like ours will help make that decision easier. 

We have been married for 9 years and met while attending a college karate class. Tamara first noticed Keith when she saw his beautiful red hair.  She has always loved red heads.  After sparring with each other in class, we became friends and would visit with one another around campus.  An accident on campus resulted in each of us losing a friend.  This mutual feeling of loss helped to bring us together in sorrow but out of that came a deep and lasting love.

Keith has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a project manager for a large equipment manufacturing company.  Tamara has a bachelor’s degree in BioEnvironmental Science and is a project manager for an environmental consulting firm; however, Tamara is considering becoming a stay-at-home mother when we bring home a child. 

Keith is currently enrolled in culinary school to learn more about his hobby of cooking and baking.  In addition to cooking, he enjoys reading, hiking, watching sports, playing Frisbee golf, and traveling.  Tamara also enjoys hiking, traveling, playing the bagpipes, and photography.  She likes crafting activities such as scrapbooking, quilting, and making handmade cards.  We both enjoy camping and love to be outside.  We are looking forward to encouraging our child to pursue their own interests while exposing them to various activities and cultures.

Tamara has been heavily involved in several cultural organizations which celebrate her heritage, including serving on the board of directors for two of these organizations.  She is also a member of a service organization which raises money for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.  Keith enjoys volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and has recently volunteered to lead a neighborhood Adopt-A-Park program.

We currently do not have any children, but are very excited to start a family of our own.  We have not been able to have children on our own but know that there are many children out there who need loving homes, and we have big hearts that are ready and willing to love a little baby. 

We have two dogs and live in a four bedroom, three bathroom house with a large backyard and lots of trees.  We also have a small garden in our backyard where we grow vegetables and herbs that Keith uses in his cooking.  Our neighborhood has a community playground, basketball courts, and a swimming pool.

Tamara is an only child and her parents live in the Dallas area.  Her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins also live there.  We try to visit her family at least once every few months.  Her parents are very excited about having their first grandchild.  Keith‘s parents, sister, grandmother, aunts, uncles, and cousins live in San Antonio.  They are all very excited to meet our new addition.

We are actively involved in our church, where Keith is an Elder.  We attend a small home church and consider our church friends to be like an extended family.

Any child we adopt will certainly be loved and cared for by all the members of our church.  Since we have started the adoption process, we all have been praying for God to bring the perfect child to us. 

We have prayed and will continue to pray for the mother of our child.  We have also promised God that we will raise the child up in the way of His teachings.  For the Bible says, “I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of Him.  So now I give him to the Lord.  For his whole life, he will be given over to the Lord.”  1 Samuel 1:27-28.
