We would like to start by telling you how
grateful we are to have the opportunity to become parents of the precious gift
you carry. With the journey you’ve been
on and the decision you’ve made, your courage and strength is to be admired and
respected beyond what words can say.
Both of us always knew we would be parents one day and dreamed of what it would be like when that day came. It was something that enhanced the love in our relationship during our engagement almost 8 years ago. And then at our wedding, when the priest asked if we would accept children lovingly into our home, we both looked at each other and smiled. We wanted to start a family right away. We were even hoping to become pregnant on our honeymoon, but years later we have still been unable to have children. Today, we are ready to follow the path God has revealed to us and adopt.
After
college, both John and I settled into jobs that we enjoy greatly which allow us
to be financially stable. We are both
dedicated and hard-working people. John
is very caring and working for a non-profit agency allows him to make a
difference in the community. As an
artist, I’ve worked in advertising as a Graphic Designer and Art Director for
the past 14 years. We live in a great
small neighborhood with several couples our age whom have young children.
We
love entertaining family and friends at our home. Being cajun, the only good
cajun food in town comes from my kitchen.
But I do have to say that the best Mexican food comes from my
mother-in-law’s. Other than cooking, gardening and art are passions of
mine. I can’t wait to get dirty with our
child, either by planting for the springtime or painting art projects! I’m sure dad will love that since he’s the
clean and neat one of the family. When
he’s not jogging or keeping up with his favorite football team, he enjoys
taking care of our house, a comfortable 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 story home.

It’s hard to describe our lives without telling you about the amazing love and support we have in both of our families. We are both proud to say that we are close with our parents and siblings. Even though my job requires me to live apart from my family, it’s rare that a month goes by without a visit. We’ve seen the happiness and love our parents give to their current grandchildren (12 total) and know that they and all the cousins are more than ready to welcome one more into the family.
We realize that adoption comes with questions as the child grows, and we’re prepared to answer those questions honestly and to the best of our ability. We both agree that the child should be told their story of adoption from an early age, and continue to be told throughout life, so that they grow up with confidence and acceptance. We will create a storybook of their life telling them where they come from and how they came to be part of our family. As the storybook grows throughout their life, we will share those photos, accomplishments and milestones with you through the agency.

The
truth is that no one knows what lies ahead and we cannot predict the future,
but this we can promise - he or she will be safe with us, loved unconditionally
and encouraged and empowered as they walk through life. We will dedicate ourselves to be the best
parents we possibly can every day. Thank
you for the bravery you’ve shown, and know you will always be in our hearts and
the heart of our child.
