We are extremely excited you are reading
our letter.
We can not express in words how humbled we feel about the thought of raising your baby. We know, even though we have not met, you are a strong and courageous person in making an adoption plan. We are confident we will live up to your expectations and provide a loving, caring, safe home and family for your baby.
Who are Shannon & Eddie?
We both grew up in Texas with loving catholic families. We attended different private high schools, but were friends with the same people who introduced us in college in 1993. We started dating right away. We love to travel and play sports. We were married in 2001 and had always known we would need to adopt to have children because of a fertility disorder. We were shocked and amazed when we were able to conceive and give birth to a biological son. We have not been able to conceive another child and decided after 6 years of treatment we would start the adoption process. We are so excited to be adopting another child into the family.
Shannon, in my own words…
I was born in New York and raised with my loving family in Texas. I have two older brothers and we all still live within ten miles of each other. I grew up in a close Irish Catholic family. I attended both private and public schools. I have played softball my entire life. Eddie and I are currently playing on a co-ed softball team. I was a stay at home mom until our son started school, and then I started to work part time. I have my degree in Interior Design and I will start teaching this fall. I am active in the PTA at school and I take our son to all his practices and lessons. We also love to travel on vacations and we plan to show as much of the world to our children as possible. I enjoy spending all my time with our son and I love being a mother and hope to expand our family to include more children.
Eddie, in my own words…
I was born in Chicago but I was raised in Texas. I grew up with a large extended family of Hispanic and catholic descent. I have one younger brother. I attended private school and then went on to college to get my associates degree in Radiology. I spent a few years working in that area but decided when our son was born to go back to the business my family owns to work with my father. I did this to have flexibility with my schedule and be available to my wife and son when they need me. I grew up playing soccer and football. Most of all I enjoy spending time with my son. Everyday we are outside doing something. I am looking forward to having baby to enjoy as well.
Our son Nathaniel…
Nathaniel is eight years and has been asking for a brother and a sister since he could talk. We have always been open and honest with him about our plans of adoption. He is so excited and wants to be able to help name the baby. He loves to play outside with his friends and enjoys playing sports and gymnastics. He has said he can’t wait to have a baby to play with and tell all his teachers about at school.
Our Home…
We chose our home because it is across the street from the elementary school, in a gated community. We have owned this home for the past few years. It has five bedrooms with one of them being the playroom. Our bedroom has an additional room attached to it designed for the baby’s nursery so he or she will always be with us. Once old enough, the baby will have his or her own room. We are so excited to start decorating the nursery for the baby. We love to spend time together and our backyard is where we all love to play and hangout with the dogs. Inside and out, our home is always filled with love and faith.
Your Baby and Us…
We would be honored to bring your baby home and into our loving family. We have more than enough love and resources for your baby. It has been our dream to have many children. In trusting us to raise your baby you will be making our dreams come true, but we promise we will dedicate our lives to making the dreams you have for your baby come true as well. Thank you for taking the time to read our letter.
